Education & Experience
Education / Qualifications
Bachelor's in engineering or a relevant major
Experience Required:
4 years of relevant experience, 2 years in the offshore oil and gas field industry preferred
Competencies
Application of leadership and teamworking skills
Apply precautions and contribute to the prevention of pollution of the marine environment
Assess reported defects and damage to cargo spaces, hatch covers and ballast tanks and take appropriate action
Manage fuel, lubrication and ballast operations
Manage operation of electrical and electronic control equipment
Manage the operation pf propulsion plant machinery
Manage trouble-shooting, restoration of electrical and electronic control equipment to operation condition
Operate emergency equipment and apply emergency procedures
Operate generators and distribution systems
Operate main and auxiliary machinery and associated control systems
Operation, surveilance, performance assessment and maintaining safety of propulsion plant and auxiliary machinery
Prevent, control and fight fires on board
